Introduction to New Scar Therapy Treatments: “Alleviating the Long-Term Effects of Injury/Surgery”
3 GEN

Patients continue to suffer from chronic pain and disability from the residual impact of scar tissue formation, long after the initial trauma or surgery. While Western medicine can be effective in addressing acute trauma, there are few noninvasive treatments for the long-term effects of scars.
Research indicates that acupuncture increases circulation, regenerates nerves and tissues, lessens physical and emotional pain, and breaks up adhesions that pull on the organs and meridians. In this seminar, participants will learn how to recognize, palpate and treat different types of scars, e.g., burns, stretch marks, acne scars, vaccination sites, facelift, hysterectomy, Caesarean section, heart surgery, etc.

They will also be introduced to:

  • the physiological factors that affect healing
  • the side effects of adhesions
  • topical scar applications
  • protocols for internal and external scarring
  • how trauma and injury impact the emotions, and lodge in patients’ cellular memory

Scar photos and treatment demonstrations will be provided in the slideshow.   Sunday 2PM-5PM

Preventing Post Prandial Endotoxemia: The #1 Cause of Death Worldwide   1 BIOMED
You are more bacteria than you are human with 10 trillion human cells outnumbered by over 100 trillion bacteria cells in and on your body. The human genome contributes just 1% genetic material to daily metabolic function compared to the 99% that is contributed by the microbiome. An often-overlooked role of the microbiome is to prevent post-prandial endotoxemia and the inflammatory devastation thatfollows. This lecture will illustrate the danger of having post-prandial endotoxemia and why this condition is being called the number one cause of mortality worldwide as it sets up the body for virtually every chronic disease. This condition is caused by eating and a failure of the microbiome to protect its host from this response. You simply cannot completely correct any chronic condition without addressing post-prandial endotoxemia.

Management Pain Syndromes and Avoid Opiate Drug Addiction  3 GEN

Florida governor Rick Scott is proposing a $53 million funding increase for opioid abuse prevention effort in 2018. This is a truly opportunity and as well as a challenge for TCM practitioners in US. Herein, there are two projects, one is how to stop pain; second is how do help people to quit the addiction to opioid drug. Is TCM practitioner does have enough knowledge and technique reserve power to relieve pain? Acupuncture for pain can completely replace the opioid drug? What pain syndromes are the right indication for acupuncture? For overcome the opioid addiction, what is the correct acupuncture procedure? What is the prospect result in a short term and long term? All these questions should be addressed and answered by our TCM practitioners.

The advance research for the mechanism of acupuncture analgesia provide a great evidence. Clinically, the most challenge cases are from post-surgery and newly traumatic injury patients. Due to the limitation of time and space, TCM practitioners cannot reach the patient on time. Opioid pain medicines are the absolutely thing to be prescription, which creates many addiction patients. To avoid and prevent opioid addiction, the best way to improve the way how to practice acupuncture and invent new technique for this challenging situation. To treat Shen/mind and elevate patient’s pain threshold, the Cross-Needling technique; To collect the traditional and modern acupuncture manipulation technique for pain management, such as Si Guan Point, Pi Zhen and many other micro-needling systems. It is necessary to develop a convenient device to be carried with patient, to develop more efficient herbal medicine for pain relief, to take the advantage of needling combination with herbal medicine for all the pain syndromes.

For successful abstinence of opioid pain drug, based on personal clinical experience, there are eleven multiple approaches to be followed. Especially, the caring and love from patient‚Äôs family members and the dedicated doctor‚Äôs involvement, just like two quantum entanglements, the positive mental power can affect patient to wake up their mind and heart, which may reset their mind/brain activities. This is the only way to keep patient completely away from opioid drug. Saturday 9AM-12Noon  .
